Toner, essence, serum.. what’s the difference actually?

Each one has a specific job in your skincare routine, and skipping steps means your skin isn’t getting the full benefit.

Toner preps and balances your skin after cleansing. It removes letfover residue and helps everything absorb better.

Essence hydrates deeply and preps your skin for active ingredients. This is the step most people tend to skip (don’t).

A serum is the most concentrated step. It targets specific concerns like brightening, anti-aging, or hydration for example.

The order actually matters so always go thinnest to thickest Toner-> Essence -> Serum -> Moisturizer -> SPF!

Your expensive serums work better when you prep properly🤍

Hydrated skin gives fragrance something to cling to, which slows down how quickly it evaporates.

If you’re worried about affecting top notes, apply moisturizer directly to the skin first and then spray your perfume on top while your skin is still freshly hydrated ✨

At 29, I was working a dream job on paper while finishing my Master’s degree in another country. Flying between two countries multiple times a week. Pushing through exhaustion because I believed I could handle anything.

Until I couldn’t.

I was burned out I could barely function. But somewhere in that chaos, I still had this dream of creating my own thing.

A beauty blog.

I spent the last 2.5 years building Glowhaven in secret. Perfecting every detail. Doubting the whole thing. Wondering if I was crazy.

Then I confirmed that maybe I was crazy, but I felt the urge to make a change.

So I quit my 9-5 corporate job and bet on myself.

I’ve always known I was meant for more than staying comfortable. I left my small hometown at 15. Backpacked Asia alone at 19. Studied and worked in two countries simultaneously.

That feeling of ”there has to be more than this”? I’ve had it my entire life.

Glowhaven is my starting point. My foundation. I don’tknow where it leads, but I’d rather risk failing than spend my life wondering ”what if.”

Makes my skin protected, hydrated and plump.
I’m using:

•The Glazing milk from @rhode (I didn’t think I needed it until I tried it)
•The Vitalight eyecream from @vtcosmetics_global absolutely love it! The vibrating applicator reduces puffiness so effectively, it’s genius!
•The @drceuracle_global Royal Vita Ampoul for everyday glow
•The @dr.altheaglobal 345 hydrating and protecting cream.

Does your vitamin C serum make your skin red and i

Does your vitamin C serum make your skin red and irritated? You might be using the wrong type. ✨

Pure ascorbic acid (unstabilized) is usually the cheaper version, but it’s the one that causes irritation for many. It needs a pH of 3.5 to work properly.

Your skin’s pH ? Around 4.7-5. That’s the issue.

Stabilized vitamin C works at a skin-friendly pH, lasts longer, and is gentler. It’s usually more expensive, but if your skin can’t handle pure ascorbic acid, you’re wasting money on the cheaper option anyway. ✨
