Wellness Habits I Do to Feel and Look My Best
This idea for a blog post actually came to me while I was in the shower. I had just gone from hot water to ice cold, and as I was standing there freezing and genuinely questioning why I do this to myself, I started thinking about what other small wellness habits I have that I never really talk about.
I already shared my self-care rituals and favorite products in a previous post, which is more about the products and routines that help me wind down. This one is different. This is more about the everyday habits I have built into my life for my body, my health, and my overall wellbeing. The small things that I genuinely think make a difference in how I feel and look.
None of these are groundbreaking. None of them require a lot of effort. But when I am consistent with them, I notice it. In my skin, in my energy, in my mood, in everything.
So here they are. Take what resonates and leave the rest.

If you want to read about my self-care rituals and the products I swear by, you can find that post here.
Self-Care Routine Ideas: The Products and Rituals I Swear By
Ice Cold Shower
Since this is literally what inspired this whole blog post, let me start here. Yes, I finish my showers with cold water. And yes, it is as horrible as it sounds. Every single time. I will never be the person who says “oh you get used to it” because honestly I have not.
But the feeling afterward? That is what keeps me doing it. Your whole body just wakes up. Your skin feels tighter, your circulation gets going, and there is this buzzing, energized feeling that lasts for a while. I am not saying you need to stand under freezing water for five minutes. Even 30 seconds at the end of your shower is enough. Try it once and see how you feel after. You might hate it. You might also love how it makes you feel.

Body Lotion
This sounds so obvious but I know not all of us do it. I apply body lotion every single time after showering, while my skin is still slightly damp. Not after I have walked around the apartment for ten minutes and my skin is already dry. Right away. While it is still damp.
The reason is that damp skin absorbs the moisture so much better and it locks everything in. Over time, this one simple habit has made the biggest difference in how my body skin feels and looks. Soft, smooth, and hydrated without really doing anything extra.

Moving My Body
My goal is at least 10,000 steps every day. Some days I hit it easily, some days I barely make 5000 and that is fine. But the days I do walk a lot, I always feel better. Clearer head, more energy, better mood. Walking is free and it works.
I also do yoga or pilates regularly. I have never been the kind of person who enjoys the gym or lifting heavy weights. That has just never been my thing. But yoga and pilates make me feel strong, stretched, and calm at the same time. It is the kind of movement that actually feels good rather than something I have to force myself through. And I think that is the key. Finding movement that you genuinely enjoy rather than something you dread. Otherwise you will never stick with it.

And then there is my vibration plate. It helps with lymphatic drainage and circulation, which basically means it supports your body in flushing out excess fluid and reducing puffiness. I use it at home and usually stand or sit on it for about ten minutes while moving my body. It is one of the easiest wellness habits I have and I truly love it.
Nourishing My Body
I try to eat healthy most of the time but I am a big believer in balance. I eat pizza whenever I want and I feel zero guilt about it. As some of you might know, I am not really the biggest fan of cooking, so I keep my meals simple and focus on eating well without overcomplicating it.
I think the moment you start restricting yourself too much is when your relationship with food becomes unhealthy. So my approach is to eat well most of the time and enjoy everything else without overthinking it.
I also drink a lot of water throughout the day. Like a lottt. Easily over 2 liters. It sounds so basic and boring but it genuinely makes a difference for my skin and my energy levels.

Kiwi Before Bed
One small habit I have picked up is eating a kiwi before bed. Kiwis naturally contain melatonin and serotonin, which can help with sleep. I am not going to sit here and claim it is life-changing, but I have noticed that on the nights I eat one, I tend to fall asleep a bit easier. And honestly, it is such a simple thing to add. Worth trying if you struggle with falling asleep.
Cycle Sync Supplements
This is something I started more recently and I wish I had known about it sooner. I take Cycle Sync supplements, which are designed to support your body through the natural hormonal shifts of your cycle.
The idea is that you take different capsules depending on which phase you are in. During the first half of your cycle, the formula supports energy and helps relieve period pain. After ovulation, it shifts to easing PMS symptoms, supporting sleep, and reducing cravings.

A supplement system designed to support your body through your cycle. Two different formulas for two different phases. The pink tub for the first half supports energy and relieves period pain. The green tub for the second half eases PMS, supports sleep, and reduces cravings. I take these daily and wish I had found them sooner.

Gua Sha
I use gua sha regularly. It helps with lymphatic drainage, reduces puffiness, and just makes your face feel more lifted and awake. It does not take long and it is one of those habits where you really notice the difference when you stop doing it for a while.
Silk Pillowcase
I sleep on a silk pillowcase. And underneath it, I always have a regular cotton pillowcase as well. I just feel like it is cleaner that way. It might sound like a small thing but silk pillowcase really does make a difference for your skin and your hair. Regular cotton pillowcases create friction against your skin, which over time can contribute to fine lines and also cause frizzy, tangled hair. Silk is so much gentler. Once you switch, you will not want to go back.
Double Cleansing My Hair
I always double cleanse my hair when I wash it. That means I shampoo twice before I condition. The first wash removes the buildup, oil, and product residue from daily life. The second wash actually cleanses the scalp properly.
Ever since I started doing this consistently, my hair feels so much cleaner, lighter, and healthier. I really believe this is one of the main secrets for my healthy, thick hair. Obviously genetics play a role too, but this habit has made a noticeable difference. If you have never tried it, I really recommend giving it a go. That first shampoo barely even lathers because it is working through all the buildup. The second one is where you actually feel the clean and the lathering. And if your first shampoo does lather right away, it might be because it contains sulfates. I try to avoid shampoos with sulfates as they tend to dry out my hair.

SPF Every Single Day
I saved this one for last because it is genuinely the most important wellness (and skincare) habit I have. I wear SPF every single day. No matter the weather, no matter the season, no matter if I am staying inside most of the day. UV rays come through windows and even on cloudy days your skin is exposed.
Sunscreen is the single most effective anti-aging product you can use. If you take one thing from this entire post, let it be this. Wear your SPF. Every. Single. Day.
Conclusion
None of these habits are groundbreaking on their own. But together, they add up to something that really makes a difference in how I feel and how my skin looks.
What you do frequently becomes your frequency.
